3sticks

In a (possible) WORLD FIRST Folk Weekend and Oxfolk Ceilidhs bring you... the COVID KITCHEN CEILIDH!

(You don't really have to dance in your kitchen, but alliteration always sounds better!)

3sticks are highly regarded favourites on the UK ceilidh and festival circuit, with their big, fresh, funky sound. Described by Fiddle On as ‘never less than stunning’, fiddle player Jenny Newman has her routes in the Donegal fiddle tradition and is renowned for her fluid and dexterous playing, and Andy Glass plays guitar and bass pedals in his own inimitable fashion to bring an inventive and exciting take to the music.

So how on earth is this going to work?!

Caller Andy Rouse will hand-pick their best selection of dances that can be done with 1-4 people. He may have to be a bit creative of course, but that's what we're all about here! You'll walk through the dance as normal and then 3sticks will play some funky music for you to dance round your living room to. There may end up being more falling about laughing than dancing, but at the very least it should provide some light relief from being stuck at home!
