Local performers

Folk in Oxford is teaming with Oxford Folk Festival to improve support for people wanting to find local performers and to local performers seeking to promote themselves to audiences in and around Oxford.

From its inception, Folk in Oxford has had a section to help people find local performers. However this has been poorly utilised, particularly with the emergence of social media platforms such as facebook and instagram. However, the social media platforms do not make it easy to make inital contact if you don't know the name of the person or group you want to access.

The local performers section of Folk in Oxford provides a directory listing individuals and groups who perform in and around Oxford / Oxfordshire making it easy for people to find and make contact with them.  Additionally we are adding a Local Performers category to our calendar and will add gigs and events to that if local performers notify us and keep us updated.

There is no charge for being listed in the directory or calendar, although donations towards the running costs of Folk in Oxford are welcome. If a local performer wishes to promote a specific event through a dedicated mailing then they can do this by purchasing a FiO Extra mailing.
