The Isis is a lovely little pub on the river near Iffley Village. You can't drive to it - access only on foot, bike or boat! Fantastic place, good food and beer (and cake!) and a really nice converted barn which makes a great gig venue.
We couldn't find a website for the Isis, but here is the Daily Info review page.
The Isis hosts a session on the second Friday of the month (liable to change occasionally) from 8pm. It's a song and tune session; starts off as mostly English folk but will descend in to cheesey pop by about 10pm..! Keep up to date with when the sessions are by joining the facebook group below.
Address: The Isis Farmhouse, Towing Path, Iffley, OX4 4EL

Jamie the landlord is very friendly, and is almost always open to musicians going in and playing, as long as there's nothing else going on. He also runs the James Street Tavern. The Half Moon hosts legendary sessions on Sunday nights, 8pm til late. It's mixed tune and song, sometimes leans more towards Irish, sometimes English, but anything goes.
Address: The Half Moon, 18 St Clement's, OX4 1AB Oxford
