"The Icknield Way Morris Men are based in the Wantage area, and dance Cotswold style Morris from Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire villages such as Bampton, Fieldtown, Adderbury and Stanton Harcourt. They have toured to festivals in France and Spain, and have appeared on the BBC "the Tudors" series and Midsomer Murders. During the summer they enjoy singing, drinking and dancing at pubs throughout the Vale of the White Horse, and they perform at a wide range of community events. The wyvern on the back of the team waistcoats is the emblem of the Icknield Way school where the team started, and marks Wantage's historical connection with King Alfred the Great.

The team is always keen to recruit new morris men; no experience is necessary.   The team practices on Wednedsays and the practice season starts with a beginners taster session in early September (8.00 pm in Grove Scout Hut, next to the Rugby club).  For more information, please visit the website, www.icknieldwaymorrismen.org.uk. or contact Jonathan on 07805 215468
